Today presented more changes and some rest! We now get Lauren tomorow afternoon and have her forever. The initial visit and leave without her idea was cancelled. (Thank goodness.) Today we ventured out on our own around Xi'an. It was pretty eventful with "the grandmas" (as Lia calls them) were almost arrested for shoplifting! We went to a local department store to buy some supplies and they forgot to take the security tags off some things and after some explaining in english to people who didn't understand it, we got out of there OK. We also went for a small walk around the hotel and found the wall of the old city. It is older than Rome and Athens. It is considered one of the first cities ever built. It is truly amazing!
We just had a nice nap and now will head out for a dumpling dinner and some sort of dance show. This wil be our last night as a family of 3. The grandmothers are doing great. I had to save Mary's life today as trying to cross the street over here would be similar to crossing the 401! It is nuts the way they go in and out of traffic and drive on the sidewalks etc. The picture of Lia was taken this morning. She is doing quite well other then she doesn't want to wear her pants right now for some reason. Sleep is coming and we are doing well!
Thank you for all the comments and please keep them coming as they really help us get through the day as well. We can also get email at ken.worsley@gmail.com I will post again tomorow hopefully with new pictures of Lauren! There is also a picture of the hats, mits and blankets that some fantastic people knit for us to take to the orphanage! The ice wine I had for the nannies and director was confiscated at the Beijing airport. After much argument and some possible international incident names I called them, I just left it there for them to enjoy. Whatever! I was not in the mood to let it go further. I will figure out this blog thing soon so that the pictures match the text. Tomorow is the BIG day!

For some reason when I post with my blogger ID, this doesn't work. So I'm "anonymous" for now.
I'm sure it's hard to wait, but I'm glad you don't have to leave Lauren at the orphanage after you meet her - how hard would that be..... Anyway, now you'll have an extra day of sleep and have your time clocks turned around. SO DON'T STAY UP ALL NIGHT TONIGHT BECAUSE YOU'RE EXCITED. :)
The weather looks good & there seems to be minimal pollution. Looks like a great city to visit & now it will be even more special because it's Lauren's home.
Happy forever family day tomorrow!

Sue, John, Nikki & Lia (and Simon, Laura & Mark too - we're all envious of your trip)

Hi All, glad to hear you are arrived safely and are doing well. I'm sure it will take a few days to adjust.

Dolores: Dad got your email (I made him open it himself) and says he loves you too and wants to send his love, along with hi's from Rudy and Rufus.

It's 9:30am Sat. were all getting our breakfast, Donny and I arrived last night for the weekend.

Barb and Doug have things under control, things are good. You are missing some good weather (but likely not as good as what you have); it's been spectacular, with a high of 24 today and sunny, windy though, big waves.

It's great new that you don't have to leave Lauren at the orphanage, everyone will be very excited.

Signing off now, with all our Love,
Maureen, Don, Barb, Doug and
BOB XOXOXOXO Rudy, Rufus.
